A NEW SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP: DAISAKU IKEDA’S APPROACH TO DIALOGUE

Abstract:

Today I would like to speak about Daisaku Ikeda’s approach to dialogue. First I will share my own experience in encountering Dr. Ikeda in the early 1990s. By relating what I experienced, I hope to cast light on his unique approach to dialogue. I will then introduce activities of the Ikeda Center for Peace, Learning, and Dialogue that have been inspired by his worldwide dialogue efforts, including his peace proposals, university lectures, and dialogue books.
